Spring in Kyoto Craft Ideas: Create Stunning Cards

Hey Friends! I am sharing my favorites from the Spring in Kyoto Collection from Spellbinders. Beautiful collection that is full of possibilities. I will be working with the Kokeshi Dolls dies, Fan Dies, Parasol BetterPress and Stencil, Cherry Blossoms BetterPress.

Card 1

I used the Parasol BetterPress Plate with Gold Foil on black cardstock. I trimmed it to 4″ x 5.25″ and adhered it to red cardstock in A2 Size (4.25″ x 5.5″).

I built the doll using black and red cardstock. I added gold accents using peel-offs from Love from Lizi. I used a small foam square to raise up the head.

I used the always and forever sentiments BetterPress with the same gold foil as the background to stamp the sentiment. I cut an additional banner in red cardstock that is slightly bigger. I glued the sentiment directly to the card base.

Card 2

I made this card a Neko Doll. I used the cat ears from the Big Cat Die Set from Spellbinders. I used Black Ink and my BetterPress to make the background. After the ink dried, I used the coordinating stencil to color in the parasols. I used complimentary light/dark colors. I cut the velum arch with the Landscape Edges Die. I chose to leave this card without a sentiment.

Cards 3 & 4

Stamped the flowers onto white cardstock with gold foil. I used the fan & bow dies to cut the fans and colored in the flowers.
I used these colors to color in the cherry blossoms: Ohuhu Markers — 0, RV010, GY4, BR1
Sentiment: vivid scripts sentiments
