Adorable Creations from Spellbinders Summer Camp Collection

Hello Crafty Friends! I have a fun summer collection that is adorable and fun, with cute animals enjoying all summer has to offer. There are seven products in this collection – five die sets, a layering stencil set, and a set of sentiment stamps.

The Summer Camp collection centers around two sets of critters. With the Trailside Trio, you can create a fox, a raccoon, and a skunk. With the Woodland Trio, you can create a squirrel, a deer, and a hedgehog. Note that the bodies in both sets are the same size, which means that all the clothing and accessories fit each of the six animals in the collection.

The size of the critters and the accessories make them so adaptable, and I personally always love mixing and matching old with new. So much fun getting to dress up the critters for summer activities!

Card 1 – Fishing Hedgehog

I started with a stenciled background, using light brown for a sandy beach, and trimmed it to 4″ x 5.25″. I added a hedgehog with green shorts, along with a fishing rod and fish to create a lakeside scene. I used foam tape behind the hedgehog for dimension, stamped the sentiment in black ink at the bottom, and added a few light green gems for embellishment.

Card 2 – Critter Duo

This cute duo began with a squirrel and a deer. I dressed the squirrel in blue shorts and the deer in a purple bathing suit with a bow. I created two trees and a hammock for the background. I added foam tape behind both critters for depth and gave the deer an ice cream cone. I stamped “Happy Birthday” in the corner and finished the card with shiny gems.

Card 3 – Hiker Fox

The final card I made has a rustic vibe. I put together a fox and dressed it for a hike. I layered trees in different shades as the background on woodgrain paper. I used foam tape behind the fox for dimension and placed it in front of the trees. The sentiment is an arrow sign cut from brown cardstock, with some brown ink blended on it to enhance the woodgrain. I glued the sign next to the fox in front of the trees.
