Craft Cozy Slippers with Spellbinders’ October Die
Hey Crafty Friends! I am absolutely thrilled to share with you the October 2024, Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders! This delightful die set embodies the spirit of coziness with an adorable slippers theme. Imagine the joy of creating a parade of whimsical characters to adorn the tops of your slippers!
What excites me most about this set is its potential to breathe new life into all that beautiful patterned paper gathering dust in our craft rooms! It’s not just designed for Christmas fun with characters like Santa and reindeer; it opens the door to a realm of creativity featuring a bunny, a penguin, and even a pair of dinosaur/monster feet!
So far, I’ve crafted 3 cards, and let me tell you, my imagination is on fire with ideas for many more. Join me on this crafty adventure—let’s unleash our creativity together!
Main Supplies Used:
October 2024 Large Die of the Month (Cozy Toes Slippers) – Spellbinders
Festive Circle Sentiments Press Plates and Dies – Spellbinders
Doodle Bug Paper – Lots of Love (6×6)
All my cards are in A2 size, and I absolutely love the process of creating them! I began with premade card bases, but there’s something so satisfying about crafting your own by cutting down white cardstock to the perfect size of 4.25″ x 5.5″ and scoring it right down the middle. For added flair, I cut vibrant red and green cardstock to A2 size, creating a beautiful border around my white embossed paper that truly makes it pop!
My white paper was carefully cut to 4″ x 5.25″, and then the real magic happened with my embossing folders. I chose the Hexi Snowflake Folder and the Peppermint Stripe Folder, both from Spellbinders. Each detail adds a touch of artistry, bringing my cards to life in a way that fills me with joy!

Since I was diving into the task of creating three charming cards, I die cut all the pieces using the Cozy Toes Slippers Dies. I selected two unique patterns from my paper pad, fully aware that I was crafting two heartwarming Christmas cards and one special creation for another memorable occasion.
I cut the slippers from Spellbinders cardstock in the Dune and Portobello colors. These hues transformed the slippers into irresistibly cozy little Ugg-like creations! Of course, feel free to unleash your creativity with any other color that inspires you. The joy of making these cards truly knows no bounds!

I adorned the penguin with a cozy winter hat, the reindeer with a sparkling, glittery red nose, and the bunny with adorable earmuffs that just made it irresistible. Using Bearly Art glue, I carefully adhered all the pieces together, then I added a touch of dimension by using foam tape to attach these whimsical critters right on top of the slippers.
But that’s not all! With my beloved Better Press system, I created two stunning sentiments, and I couldn’t resist using my hot foil machine to make another. These two systems are simply incredible for crafting sentiments—it’s so easy to achieve beautiful results that truly elevate my projects! I love how everything comes together so beautifully, making my creative heart sing with joy!

I carefully attached the legs to each card, bringing them to life with personality and charm. I used foam tape to elevate some of the legs—those delightful reindeer ones and one of the cheerful penguins—while securely gluing down the others with my trusty Bearly Art Glue. The sentiments are added using foam tape for that extra pop, and everything is adhered to the card base.
I truly hope you’ve enjoyed what I’ve crafted here and that you feel inspired to embark on your own crafting journey! If you’re ready to unleash your creativity and want to do a bit of shopping, I’ve included a list of all the supplies I used. Happy crafting!
