Spellbinders Weekend Event: Unboxing and Card Ideas

Hey Crafty Friends!! I recently took part in the Spellbinders Weekender Event. This is a crafty box full of dies, paper, ink, stamps and more. During the weekend event, you craft along with different creators. This is really fun and is my second year participating.

This year the theme was Mediterranean Vacation. Over the course of the weekend, I ended up making 14 cards. I loved the dies included and cant wait to use them again. Check out my unboxing video to see all of the contents of this box.

Check out the cards and details on how they are made. Some of the materials used will be available at Spellbinders. All my cards are made in A2 Size (4.25″ x 5,5″)

Card 1

Background was made my generously spraying the Blue Shimmer Spray on top of white cardstock. After it dried I glued the face and spaghetti to the card base.

Card 2

I cut out all the pieces us the Beyond the Door Die Set. I embellished the flowers with shimmer gems from a leftover Diamond Art Kit. The sentiment is from Escape the Ordinary Stamp Set and cut with a coordinating die.

Card 3

Another card made using the Ciao Spaghetti Die set and Stamped the sentiment directly to the card base. Embellished the card with Crystal Gems. The oranges are from the Beyond the Door Die set.

Card 4

All the lips and Ciao are from the Ciao Spaghetti Die Set. The lemons are from the Beyond the Door Set. Embellished with Crystal Gems. Stamped with the Weekender Stamp Set. I cut the card mat to size 4″ x 5.5″ before adhering to a white card base

Card 5

The background is made using the Lemon Fresco 3D embossing folder. I rubbed the Lemon Drop ink on the folder, closed the folder with White Cardstock. The effect is a yellow background while the embossing parts stay white. Cut and assembled the Lemons from the Citrus Spritz set. Sentiment is from La Dolce Vita Banner Set. The card mat is size 4″x5.25″ and adhered to a white card base.

Card 6

The card mat is cut to size 3.5″ x 4.75″ and then embossed using the Lemon Fresco 3D embossing folder. Lemons and Flowers are from the Citrus Spritz Set then used pink ink in the center of the flowers. Sentiment is from the La Dolce Vita Banner set. The card mat is adhered to a white card base.

Card 7

This card has a unique background. I used the included stencil with Blue Hawaii, Lemon Drop, and Key Lime Fizz. I pressed the pattern onto white cardstock with each color. I also spritzed it with Blue Shimmer Spray. The squares are made from white cardstock and rub on images. The other images are fussy cut after being placed on White Cardstock. I glued the squares directly onto the card mat, the other images are raised with small foam squares. The sentiment is also from the rub on collection, the yellow cardstock is glued onto the card mat.

Card 8

This card mat is made with blue ink on the 3D embossing folder and yellow cardstock. Flowers from Citrus Spritz die set and I used blue ink on the center of the flowers. Finished with La Dolce Vita Banners for the blue sentiment and embellished with Crystal Gems.

Card 9

The blue for the card mat was cut to 5.5″ x 3″ and the dies were cut and assembled from Deckside Dreams Set. Embellished the card with Crystal Gems. Sentiment is from the stamp set.

Card 10

This card is an Easel Fold Card. The Easel base is 4.25″ x 11″. On the 11″ side score at 2.25″ and 5.5″. You attach the A2 Size card base to the 2.25″ section. The background behind the clouds is ink blended with yellow & orange. The die set is Beyond the Door. To keep the Easel standing, I cut the sentiment shape out 3x. Then, I glued them all together and placed the sentiment on top.

Card 11

This a fun, fold card using the Beyond the Door Die Set. To make the card base, cut cardstock to 5.5″ x 8.5″. Score panel at 2.25″ & 4.25″. For extra detail, I used the included stencil on the top left and bottom right corners. This card, I changed the sentiment from the class to make it a birthday card. You can get a similar sentiment using the La Dolce Vita sentiments BetterPress plates.

Card 12

The blue background is cut to 4″ x 5.25″ and then I spritzed it with Blue Shimmer Spray. Assembled the sun from the Under the Sun set. Sentiment from the La Dolce Vita Banners.

Card 13

The kit came with patterned vellum sheets and this card uses one of those, the tile pattern. I cut the vellum to A2 size (4.25″ x 5.5″). I used double sided tape to adhere it to my card base, the tap does not show through. The flowers are cut from the Citrus Spritz set and embellished with Blue Gems. Cut the banner from the La Dolce Vita Banner Set.

Card 14

This final card is cut from the Deckside Dreams die set. The card mat and waves are cut from white cardstock. The pattern is from 1 layer of the stencil and blue shimmer spray. I cut 2nd piece of cardstock to make the waves. I folded the bow in the center and glued the edges to keep it raised up. Glued the waves on top and added the sentiment banner to the bottom.
